Around 4:11 pm on November 1, 2021, Houma Police responded to a disturbance call on Downtown Court.
Two Houma Police officers arrived and met with a subject.
An altercation occurred with the subject which resulted in one of the Houma Police officers discharging his weapon. The subject was struck by the gunfire and transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. No officers were injured.
Louisiana State Police is the lead investigating agency for this shooting. More information will be released later on in a press release.
