A 19-year-old woman has died as the result of the injuries she sustained in a shooting in Thibodaux on Halloween afternoon.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre confirmed on Monday that 19-year-old Shantell Pollard, of Thibodaux, died on November 3 after being a victim in the shooting incident which had left her in critical condition since Oct. 31.

On that day, authorities responded to Park Avenue in Thibodaux in reference to the shooting.


When authorities arrived, they found Pollard sitting in the passenger seat of an SUV, bleeding from a bullet wound on her head. Authorities said she was unresponsive when they arrived

Pollard was taken to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for treatment, but she was later taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge where she died on Nov. 3.

Authorities said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
