TWELFTH NIGHT RENDEZVOUS –

The annual adults-only, general-admission event celebrates the dawn of king-cake season and the lead-up to Mardi Gras. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a disc jockey’s music are among the offerings. All local Mardi Gras crews are invited, and all royalty are recognized.

SWAP MEET –

Brittany’s Project, which aims to construct a recreational facility for people with disabilities, hosts the meet on a 25-acre plot. Featured are a car corral, tractors, hunting and fishing gear, crafts, jewelry and various “knick knacks.” Admission is $10.

KREWE OF MARDI GRAS’ CHILI COOKOFF –

The 15th annual cook-off sponsored by the Krewe of Mardi Gras doles out $2,000 to the top-four cooks. The entry fee to compete is $50. No Way Out perform from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a live auction and disc jockey following. General admission is $10.

DANCE NIGHT –

The Stardust Jazz band performs, under the theme “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” in the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center Development Corporation production. The event heralds the music of the ‘30s and ‘40s, and attendees are encouraged to break out the vintage clothing and accessories. Light hors d’oeuvres are offered, and there’s a cash bar.

BAYOUKIDZ WINTER WORKSHOP –

The wretched witch has erased all the color from “Once-Upon-A-Time Land,” so various characters from familiar fairy tales form a coalition to find a solution. Workshops at the Bayou Playhouse are open to children of all ages, with rehearsal and performance dates scheduled for February. Directing is Alaine’ Claire Gauthreaux, dance/acting teacher at Mary’s School of Dance and talented teacher for the Terrebonne Parish School System. Registration is $125.
