Lorna and Bernadette Productions is adding a bit of soul to Christmas at Houma’s Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites.

“A Soulful Christmas: Songs of the Season” features an assortment of powerhouse Christmas favorites that have a touch of soul, rock n’ roll, gospel and some good old traditional caroling.

A four-piece band will accompany singers Garrett Bruce, Shane Carson, Angela Jones-Landry, Nicole Webb, Debbie Womack and Sarah Voisin. And California crooner Jason Alan Smith is also appearing with the cast.

“For years we’ve wanted to do Christmas show outside of the Rock n’ Soul Revue because of the caliber of voice we have put together,” said Lorna Farrar, who with Bernadette Dugas formed the production team in 1988. “We went through all the Christmas music to find a little gospel, soul and rock n’ roll songs for these beautifully trained voices. I can tell you it’s a beautiful show that’s truly about the Christmas spirit and getting everybody together to feel the warmth of Christmas.”

Evening performances are Dec. 20, 21 and 22. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. on all three days. The revue also showcases a Sunday matinee on Dec. 23. Lunch is served at 1 p.m. and the show begins at 2 p.m.

Tickets include dinner or lunch and are $50 per person.

The Holiday Inn is located at 1800 Martin Luther King Blvd., Houma. The hotel is offering a special holiday package in conjunction with this event that includes dinner, a show and a room for $250 per couple or $185 for a single room.
