Spring is in the air. The time for love, weddings and the seventh South Louisiana Women’s Expo and Bridal Showcase.

The event, which is presented by Sunburst Media and sponsored by Houma Credit, is set for March 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. Admission is $5 at the door.

“We have heard about bridal shows that were very successful in other metro areas, Houma was a little late joining the fun, but we are here now,” said coordinator Synde Devillier.

The customized event is ideal for brides-to-be with caterers, rental facilities, wedding decorators, florists, and designers all showcasing their wares aimed at getting the bride and groom down the aisle.

Across the southern region, the demand for services of the wedding and bridal industry is much greater, according to Devillier. To meet the demand, about 60 vendors will have their goods on display.

“We are expecting hundreds of people to come to the event. Last year we had a great turnout, and we’ve gotten a great response already,” said Devillier said.

Visitors to the event in the market for wedding-related items and services can get quotes on everything they need. “Couples and their families should be able to find everything they need to coordinate their wedding from start to finish,” Devillier said.
