Sure, the ladies pretty much have daytime TV locked up and monopolized with their soap operas, doctor programming and romantic talk shows.

But guys need some of those things in their lives, too.

Insert World Wrestling Entertainment, which probably can be best described as a little bit of it all.

Now everybody has a chance to be happy.

The “fake” fighting conglomerate takes its act into the area this month when WWE’s Monday Night Raw SuperShow comes to the New Orleans Arena on May 28.

The longest-running weekly episodic TV show in history starts the action at 7:15 p.m. – 45 minutes before the show goes live before a nationally-televised audience on USA Network.

So, we can hear the murmurs already.

We know you’re saying wrestling is fake.

To that, it can be said – so what?

That cat left the bag decades ago and is partly why the company included the word “entertainment” in its acronym.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had for the expected sell-out crowd hungry for suplexes, body slams and Santino Marella’s famous Cobra.

Fresh off the Road to Wrestlemania, superstar John Cena is scheduled to appear at and headline the live event.

Does the Big Easy faithful cheer or boo the former world champion, always a polarizing figure, when he comes to town?

If recent shows are an indication, he just may be hearing a little bit of both.

While in town, Cena is likely to be encountered by world-famous fighter and former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, who just recently made his return to the “squared circle” after more than a half-decade hiatus.

Recent storylines mandate Lesnar will “come and go as he pleases,” on WWE Raw.

But reality and iron-clad contracts dictate the former UFC champion will likely be in attendance at the New Orleans event.

Also expected to appear at the show is fan favorite and current WWE champion CM Punk.

One of the longest reigning champions in the past few years, Punk will likely exchange words (and probably blows) with archrival and rock star Chris Jericho.

Since his return to the WWE, Jericho, who doubles as the lead singer for famous rock band Fozzy, has tormented the world champion in an extremely personal feud to decide who truly is the best in the world.

Fans not overly interested in the action are also in for a treat, as the beautiful and talented WWE Divas are scheduled to appear at the event, as well as other attractions.

So fresh off the most purchased Wrestlemania in pay per view history, the WWE comes into the Big Easy red-hot and full of momentum.

That’s a huge plus to Tri-parish wrestling fans looking for a night of fun.

Sure, this stuff might be scripted, but isn’t almost all TV that way? When viewed as a two-hour soap opera, the Raw SuperShow begins to look more and more like a solid option.

For ticket information, those interested should contact the New Orleans Arena box office at (504) 587-3822.
