Thibodaux Regional Medical Center is offering young girls an opportunity to learn about life changes in June.

The hospital announced that on June 29 at 6 p.m., it will host Growing Up: For Girls’ Only – a one-time, one-hour class which will focus on educating girls about adolescence so that they can better understand their bodies.

The class is taught by a registered nurse and it aims to explain to kids what changes will occur in them as they approach teenage age, while also reinforcing that every child is unique in her development.

The class is for girls ages 9-12.

Each participant must be accompanied by an adult female.

The event will be held at TRMC’s Wellness Education Center.

Cost to register is $20.
