Dear Editor:

My personal observation is that if the Democrats were seriously interested in reform, they are omitting some very obvious simple measures such as allowing insurance companies to compete across state lines, medical malpractice tort reform, higher tax credits for Health Savings Accounts.

Instead, this appears to be an obvious attempt to take greater governmental control of people’s lives.

According to the latest polls, a far greater majority do not want increased governmental control in their lives, especially with respect to their healthcare. Additionally, at a time when the government is so far in the red financially that it is drowning in debt, it wants to increase the debt to limits that before now were thought unimaginable.

This is wreckless governance and our legislators must be held accountable.

There is an arrogant attitude amongst many legislators in Washington that they know better than we do about what we need and that they are above those same requirements.
