Dear Editor:

I want to notify everyone what the Federal Emergency Management Agency is doing to people. I lost my entire home, including clothes and everything. FEMA is not helping us one bit.

Red Cross was just as useless as they have never been to my area. They’ve never even asked if we needed a bottle of water.

Without FEMA’s help, I am living in a vehicle with a 10-year-old.

Is this how our country helps?

I am not asking FEMA for a free ride. I would just like to have a place where we can lay our head one night. New Orleans residents got travel trailers and I’ve received nothing.

I have my own property. Anything would be nice, even if I have to pay monthly notes.

I think we should do away with FEMA, the Red Cross and our elected officials who could let this happen and forget about us.

If anyone knows of something to help, please let me know.

Kathy Wallace,

Schriever, La.
