Dear Editor:

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet, Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois, District Attorney Joe Waitz Jr., members of the parish council and, in particular, my councilman, John Pizzolatto, and other key administrators for their patient and timely response to the recent double-whammy hurricanes Gustav and Ike and the mandatory execution of the evacuation and re-entry.

Were it not for their extra-ordinary efforts and sacrifice around-the-clock planning and execution movement out of harm’s way of Terrebonne citizens would not have been possible. Because of this unprecedented cooperation, our citizens were provided with the highest possible level of emergency services.

This hard work, cooperation and goodwill eased the anxiety and concerns of our citizenry and provided peace of mind.

I am forever grateful for this unselfish commitment and dedication.

Alice R. Fields,

Houma
