Dear Editor:

I’d like to thank you all for your unending support to us troops. You have no idea how much it means to us when we see your faces light up as we return to our home, USA.

I am assigned to Kuwait; I work in the R&R Outbound Tent 5. In this tent, we send home the troops that are returning home for their two-week rest and recuperation. We also have a tent that receives the incoming soldiers to theatre and sends home troops that are ending their year-long deployment.

I am requesting donations of holiday decorations for our tents. I believe it will bring up the spirits of our soldiers passing through and those stationed here in Kuwait.

We are a 24-hour operation, serving military members (MMs). It may take two to three days for the MMs to arrive. When they do, they’re hungry and tired. Donations of personal-sized hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, razors, etc.) would be very useful. Sometimes bags get lost and the soldiers are without these products and they have to purchase them.

Small stuffed toys they can bring home to their small children and snacks in small packages to hold them over until chow time would also be appreciated.

Again, thank you for your support and donations. We see the American support via commercials, letters, e-mails, word of mouth and, best of all, when we return to American soil and see people smile and waive to us as we walk through the airport. I cannot tell you how much it means to know we are supported by our fellow Americans.
