November is the month for gratitude and thankfulness – for family, friends, and great books! Your local library is here to help you connect with all of these and more.

Are you looking for a way to reconnect with family and friends? Be sure to check out our library’s programming the week of November 3rd-9th as we celebrate International Games Week. There will be gaming fun to be had at all nine branches. You can check out our newsletter at http://mytpl.org/newsletter-signup/ to find out what is happening near you.

In the meantime, check out one of these books to get you in a thankful mood. All three books are available through the Terrebonne Parish Library System, and you can reserve a copy today at www.mytpl.org.

Thank You, Earth: A Love Letter to Our Planet
Written by April Pulley Sayre

From slippery seaweed to buzzing honey bees, nature provides us with so much to be grateful for. In her book, April Pulley Sayre gives thanks to the earth for all the wonderful creatures, patterns, and food that it provides for us. Her love letter is accompanied by beautiful photographs of the natural world and will be sure to spark lots of discussion with your young ones about what they are thankful for in nature.

Thank You, Omu!
Written and Illustrated by Oge Mora

Oma has just spent the day preparing a delicious thick red soup. She has just sat down to rest and read a book while it continues to bubble away when she is interrupted by a knock at the door. It turns out that the smell of her thick red soup has made it through the neighborhood and everyone is clamoring to get a taste. Omu is more than happy to share with her grateful neighbors but what’s going to happen when she runs out and there’s none left for her? Check the book out to see how her neighbors pull together to say, “Thank you, Omu!”
