Hello, friends! One of my favorite holidays is the Fourth of July. I love hosting a picnic with my friends and watching fireworks in the evening. I also enjoy reading about our Independence Day.
Did you know that it was actually on July 2, 1776, that the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence from Great Britain? So why do we celebrate it on the 4th? Because it was on July 4, 1776, that the Declaration of Independence was officially printed and formally adopted.
Have you ever seen a $2 bill? On the back there’s a painting from John Trumbull that shows the draft of the Declaration of Independence being presented to Congress.
