Hi there! I’m Penny D. Pelican, Synergy Bank’s spokesbird. Welcome to the Synergy Cents section of Family First Magazine. Each month we’ll have this section just for you with fun games and lessons about money and the importance of saving.
Mardi Gras is here! This is one of Penny’s favorite times of year. She loves going to parades to see the beautiful floats and watching the marching bands perform. She also likes to see how many beads she can catch.
This year, Penny wants to bring a king cake to the parade to share with her friends. The king cake costs $20. Penny’s allowance is $5 per week, so she had to earn extra money. She helped a friend, who rides in a parade organize her beads. She also walked her neighbor’s dog twice a day this week.
