The eleventh annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival, presented by Gerard Lombardo, will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Central Lafourche Market, 4484 La. Highway 1 in Raceland.

This free-admission festival is produced by the Cajun Music Preservation Society and will feature three bands that play traditional dance hall style Cajun music, a performance by the Des Allemands Elementary Dancers and open Cajun music jams between band sets.

The family-friendly festival will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.

The Lafourche Central Market is an open pavilion located at the corner of La. Highway 1 and Highway 90. The pavilion provides protection from the sun and rain, and has plenty of room for chairs and dancing.

Local artists and vendors will sell a variety of items at the festival.

Gina’s at the Legion and Spahr’s Seafood will serve hamburgers, duck strips, seafood po-boys and fries.  A wide variety of beverages and sweets will also be available.

The music lineup includes Quatre Coin Throwdown (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.), Waylon Thibodeaux (1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.) and The Daiquiri Queens (3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.).  The Des Allemands Elementary Dancers will perform at 12:35 p.m.

The festival is made possible by Gerard Lombardo, The Louisiana Decentralized Arts Funding Program, Bayou Regional Arts Council, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, Shell Pipeline Company, Nicholls State University Mu Kappa Alpha Chapter of TriBeta National Biological Honor Society and Brent Lambiotte.
