8th annual Pumpkin Patch of Houma 


The pumpkins have arrived! Pick the best of the patch to bring home and enjoy games, a maze, bounce house and many photo opportunities. Craft vendors join in the fun on the weekends with homemade treasures and foods. It’s Movie Time at The Patch! Bring your blanket or lawn chair and join as “Hocus Pocus” is shown on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Patch.

St. Anne’s Pumpkin Patch

Enjoy some Fall family fun at the pumpkin patch! There are arts and crafts and games for children including bowling, mini golf, bean bag toss and more. Admission is free. Food will not be sold, but feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the property.

Houma Pumpkin Patch

Shop for pumpkins and enjoy hayrides, live music, and much more at Houma’s largest Pumpkin Patch. Admission is free. Jambalaya and hamburgers can be purchased on the weekends. Bring your camera to capture the memories. Events on Sunday, Oct. 28 are being hosted by Houma Christian School. Many free games will be offered. A craft tent for kids and an HCS art sale will benefit African orphanages. They will have live performances of the HCS cheer squad, pep squad, band, flagcorps, and a trivia contest hosted by HCS quiz bowl.

Pumpkin Patch


First Methodist Church of Thibodaux brings hundreds of pumpkins for patrons to pick from at this 23rd annual event. A country store filled with crafts and homemade goodies is also open Pumpkins are for sale in the courtyard every day from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Proceeds benefit the church’s ministries and local charities. A Pumpkin Patch Playland is also held on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. to give families an additional chance to enjoy holiday-themed activities.

French Food Festival

Experience the soul of Cajun culture at the Larose French Food Festival. Delicious Cajun cuisine, rich Cajun heritage and wonderful music are just some of the highlights of this great festival. Music and dancing, carnival rides and games, art show, petting zoo and various contests make this a festival you don’t want to miss. New this year is the Troll Dinner and Movie and bonfire.

Terrebonne Advocates for Possibility presents the 9th Annual Chauvin Fest. This two-day festival has a lineup of entertaining musicians that will rock the stage and talented artists selling unique, eye-catching items from their booths. The festival will also feature a jambalaya cook-off on its first day.

Cajun Fly-In 2016


EAA Chapter 513’s Cajun Fly-In encourages pilots and aviation enthusiasts to meet and hang out at the Houma Airbase. Kids have a chance to get close-up looks at different types of aircraft and the event also features Louisiana’s Largest Pilot Shop on Taxiway G. This event is free and open to the public.

Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival

The Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival enjoys its third year in Raceland for this one-day celebration of all things Cajun. Highlighting local and regional Cajun bands, this year’s line-up features The Daiquiri Queens, Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rodailleurs, Les Ferrailles, and Les Freres Michot. This event is free and open to the public.

Thibodeauxville Fall Festival


Pass a good time at the 26th annual Thibodeauxville Fall Festival. Thibodaux is the place for excitement with dozens of arts and crafts booths, 5-and 10K races, music, food and more during Thibodeauxville. The music line-up includes Rockin’ Dopsie, Foret Tradition, and the Cajun Music Preservation Society. The famous Duck Race takes place at 4 p.m. Admission to the festival is free.

A field full of select pumpkins for autumn festivities and family-friendly activities are offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Houma, beginning Oct. 14. FUMC of Thibodaux also makes available its pumpkin patch beginning Oct. 10.
