Let’s be honest, Lent in Louisiana is an easy thing with the abundance of seafood we have! Here are some local choices to make your meatless Fridays easier:

 

1. Grady V’s, 900 Country Club Blvd., Thibodaux

Starting on Ash Wednesday, Grady V’s now has charbroiled oysters! They’re fiery & delicious oysters hot off of the grill that will last throughout the Lenten season!

2. 531 Liberty, 531 Liberty St., Houma

531 knows how to do lent! Today, for example, you can get a delicious shrimp burger that has a House-made shrimp patty with roasted jalapeno tartar sauce, lettuce, and tomato on a sourdough bun w/ side.


 

3. La Carreta, 1327 St Charles St., Houma

Need some options for meatless Fridays? La Carreta has options such as Plabano Shrimp Tacos and Grilled Salmon!

 

4. Big Mike’s BBQ Smokehouse, 3034 Barrow St., Houma | 120 Laura Dr., Thibodaux

Don’t worry, your favorite local BBQ joint does indeed have options! If you haven’t had their shrimp yet, you NEED to!

 

 

4. La Casa Del Sol, 169 Monarch Dr., Houma | 612 N Canal Blvd., Thibodaux

Mexican food on a Friday night is the best way to have a night out with family. La Casa Del Sol offers Seafood Nachos, Seafood Enchiladas, Ceviche, and more! Also, tonight March 4 at the Houma location, there is live music by Jonny & Casie starting at 6:00 p.m.!


 

6. Southern Axe, 500 Corporate Dr., Houma

Southern Axe is back and better than ever! Want to have a fun night out throwing some axes? No worries, because they have a Lent menu as well! You must try the Southern Shrimp which is gulf shrimp breaded deep fried and tossed with their new house sauce, “The Sweet Axe Sauce!” You can order it on a bun or as a poboy!

 

7. Papi Cheo, 863 Verret St., Houma

The Papi Cheo Lenten menu is one that will make Lent easy. They have crawfish queso, fish tacos, and more! The menu is also available every day of the week.

 

8. Rouses Markets,  Find your Rouses location here

Calling all seafood lovers! Rouses has announced their Seafood Spectacular Menu in delis that have now been extended to Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during Lent! You can get your fix by the pound, $8.99/lb, or grab a seafood platter for a quick fix that is available daily.


 

8. Cannata’s Cafe, Find your Cannata’s location here

Cannata’s Cafe has home cooking on the go! Get the “best lunch plate in town!” Every Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you can take advantage of their delicious Seafood Extravaganza that has anything from Shrimp Jambalaya to po-boys.
