“A Night for Children’s Sake”

March 6, 6:30-10 p.m.

5 Glen Oaks Drive, Houma


CASA of Terrebonne is pleased to announce A Night for Children’s Sake celebrating their 20th Anniversary. The event features live entertainment, food from local vendors, an open bar, and both live and silent auctions.

Proceeds from a Night for Children’s Sake will enable CASA to continue to offer much needed help to children and families in our community. Tickets are $80.

 

Friends of the Terrebonne Animal Shelter 5K-9 Dog Run/Walk


March 7, 8am – 1pm

Courtyard Marriott, Houma

Two and four legged friends are welcome to join the 3rd Annual 5K-9 Run/Walk fundraiser. Leashed, friendly dogs with current vaccinations are welcome. Registration for the race begins at 8am. The ½ mile fun run/walk begins at 9am and the 5K run/walk begins at 9:30am.


Roux for a Reason

March 7, noon

Southdown Plantation, Houma


The most delicious fundraiser around, Roux for Reason welcomes 4-man teams to compete in various categories for 1st, 2nd, and 3 rd place prizes along with People’s Choice Awards. This family-friendly event includes kids activities and live music from Nonc Nu & da Wild Matous and Parish County Line. Proceeds benefit a nutritionist program at Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center.

Harlem Globetrotters

March 9, 7 p.m.


Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center
Featuring some of the most elite dunkers on the planet, exceptional ball handlers, and Guinness World Record holders, a Harlem Globetrotters game is more than just basketball – they are the ultimate in family entertainment that will bring smiles and fan interaction to people of all ages. Tickets start at $20.

Parent’s Night Out

March 13, 6-8:30 p.m.


Brushworks, Houma

Parents, have a night out to yourselves and drop the kids off at Brushworks for a fun night of art and pizza! Open to children ages 5-12, registration required in advance to attend. Cost is $35/child, pizza, snacks, drinks included.

Spring Arts Walk


March 13, 5-8 p.m.

Downtown Thibodaux

Arts Walk invites the community to stroll the streets and visit the businesses of Historic Downtown Thibodaux while enjoying the talents of a variety of local artists set up along the sidewalks and storefronts. Arts Walk is free and open to the public.


“Race for Their Future” Race Fest

March 14, 8 a.m.

Peltier Park, Thibodaux


Join the MAX Charter School for their 12th annual “Race for their Future” 5K Race Fest, which includes a 1 mile fun run and a 5K run to benefit the students at MAX. Raffle tickets are available for purchase for the grand prize, a Disney vacation. There will also be food, drinks, games, bounce houses, live music, a silent auction, and a Cajun cook-off. Cost is $30.

Greater Love Banquet

March 20, 7 pm- 10 pm


Houma Municipal Auditorium

Join Hope Restored Pregnancy Resource Center for the second annual Greater Love Banquet. Special guests Al and Lisa Robertson from Duck Dynasty will host the night which includes a meal, desserts and silent auction with proceeds supporting the center.

Bayou Lafourche Clean-Up 2020


March 21, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Bayou Lafourche

Bayou Lafourche spans 106 miles, and is the drinking water source for approximately 300,000 residents! It is vital to the success of our community, so volunteers join BTNEP to remove roughly 20 to 22 tons of trash every year! Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.


Marsh Mad Dash

March 21, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Nicholls State University


Marsh Mad Dash is a 5K and Fun Run hosted by LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency). The Fun Run starts at 8 a.m., with a 5K to immediately follow.

Paint the Town 5K

March 21, 7:30-10 a.m.


Bayouland YMCA, Houma

Join the fun at the YMCA’s 4th Annual “Paint The Town” 5k fun color run event. Registration and packet pick up opens at 7:30 a.m. First wave of runners starts at 8 a.m. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome! Make your way through 4 color stations along the 5k route. At the finish line you’ll be colorful from head to toe. Don’t forget to grab your color packet as you cross the finish line.

Duckin’ Out for the Arts

Terrebonne Waterlife Museum

The Bayou Regional Arts Council is hosting their annual art show and auction fundraiser, presented by Peoples Drug Store. The evening features music, cajun dancing, a silent art auction. The special guest for the evening is Barton Gilliam of “Blazing Saddles.” Tickets are $45.


World Down Syndrome Day Celebration 

March 21

211 Rue Betancourt, Thibodaux


A celebration in honor of World Down Syndrome Day promises fun for everyone. Join in on the 5K run, $30,  or just for the fun with a general admission ticket, $20. The event features food, beer, family fun activities and live entertainment from Marc Broussard and Nonc Nu & Da Wild Matous all proceeds benefit Upside Downs.

Move It For Millie

March 22, 8 a.m.


Peltier Park, Thibodaux

Join us for the 3rd annual Move it For Millie, which will feature a 5K and fun run as well as a dance a thon! Move it for Millie is held to raise awareness of the rare genetic disorder Turner Syndrome. All proceeds will be donated to the Turner Syndrome Foundation in honor of Heather and Brad Benoit’s unborn daughter, Millie Raelynn Benoit, who lost her battle at 27 weeks gestation.

Irish Italian Parade

Catch your weight in veggies, fruit and more at the Irish Italian Parade! The route begins at Cannata’s on West Park, crossing over the bayou at Hollywood Road to Main Street, making a right turn on Barrow, to end at Town Hall.


Play it Forward “Vegas Night”

Join the BCCM for a special evening benefiting the Bayou Country Children’s Museum featuring live entertainment from John Daigle, a cocktail trail, local food, gaming tables, and a silent auction and live auction.

Bon Temps Bash

March 28, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.


Fletcher Technical Community College

The Bon Temps Bash is a unique three-in-one event for our community hosted by Fletcher. The Bash serves as an Open House for the college, where program representatives will be on hand to speak to prospective students. A Cast Iron Cook-Off will feed and entertain! Fletcher’s Beta Tau Rho Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa international honors society will also host a 5K. Enjoy inflatables and outdoor games for all ages.

The Haven Spring Gala

The Haven’s annual Spring Gala, “Home is Where the Heart Is” gathers our community together to raise awareness and needed funds for their programs and services. Guests will sample the best dishes from local chefs, enjoy a cocktail or two, and dance the night away to live entertainment by Jerry Christopher’s X-Ceptions.

Come on out to the Bayou Country Children’s Museum and pass a good time with your kids! The 5th annual Jackie Bartels Kids Conservation Fest will have lots of fun outdoor activities for both children and adults including dog demos, duck calling, casting coaches, wildlife ID, wood duck box building, access to the museum and much more. Admission is $5.
