Oktoberfest returns to Houma this weekend for the second year at Spigots Brew Pub, 622 Barrow St. The German-inspired festival will have delicious foods, fun games, live music and plenty of Spigots’ own craft beers!

The festival will take place inside a 60-by-100 air-conditioned tent in the restaurant’s parking lot.

Outside, Spigots staff will cook fair-style foods such as burgers, hot dogs, cheese fries and funnel cakes, among other appetizing quick bites.

At the event, the pub will have the season debut of its local favorite Oktoberfest lager, along with plenty of its other craft beers for sale.

Spigots is flying in Die Heufelder, a band from Germany, to keep the festival authentic and entertain guests over the weekend.

Guests can participate in games at the festival, too, including cornhole and wheelbarrow racing.

A few local businesses, such as Zen Japanese Grill & Sushi and A&B Seafood, will be in attendance, showcasing and selling their products at the festival as well.

“We’re trying to support local business and bring life to Downtown Houma,” Spigots manager Jacob Aucoin said.

The festival will be open from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Sunday.

“We just want to thank everybody in advance for coming out,” Aucoin said. “We’re going on three years in business, and we have a lot of people who really like us. We just appreciate everybody supporting us through the years so far.”
