Breakfast with Santa

December 1, 7-11 a.m.

Vandebilt Catholic High School Cafeteria, Houma

Santa Claus is coming to breakfast! The Kiwanis Club of Houma is hosting their 29th annual Breakfast with Santa fundraiser. While the menu features delicious pancakes and sausage, the main attraction is the jolly old soul himself that visits with children and pauses to take pictures.

Tickets are $6 in advance from any Kiwanis Club or Key Club member and $7 at the door and includes all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, Christmas crafts, face painting and Karaoke for the kids. Photos with Santa on your own camera or device will cost $5 per child or $10 for a family of up to five persons.

“We’re trying to raise money for the many Kiwanis programs that serve the community while also offering an affordable Christmastime activity for families with children,” said Lacey Ourso, president of Kiwanis Club of Houma. “It’s a great way to kick off a Saturday of Christmas activities with the kids.”

The event will also feature the raffling off of Christmas toys, decorations and other items. The $1 raffle tickets will be deposited by the buyer toward the item they wish to win.

The Kiwanis Club of Houma’s primary mission is to improve communities with a special focus on the needs of children. Kiwanis Key clubs in local high schools encourage community service and civic responsibility. The high school and home-school Key club members serve alongside the adult Kiwanians at the breakfast. Funds raised help support the many activities of the Kiwanis Club of Houma including Terrific Kids awards to local third grade students, the Coats for Kids coat drive, Books for Bikes summer reading program, Play It Again Terrebonne musical instrument loan program, NSU and Fletcher scholarships, BINGO at nursing homes and more. Kiwanians also volunteer to help at many local festivals that aid other good causes. Funds raised also support the Key Clubs.
