Fletcher to host 5th Annual Chancellor’s Breakfast

Warriors of Hope will host their inaugural Turkey Trot on the morning of Thanksgiving.
There will be a 5k and 10k walk and run; the route will accommodate families, strollers, leashed dogs, walkers, and runners. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 25, with the race starting at 7:30 a.m. at 806 N Acadia Rd in Thibodaux, LA.
Founded in 2020 by Teri Larisey, Warriors of Hope is a non-profit organization founded in honor of her son, Brock Larisey. Having experienced firsthand the hardships the patient and family members go through, Teri saw an opportunity to aid others in similar situations.
“My son was diagnosed with stage 4 tongue cancer in May 2018 at the age of 21,” shared Larisey. “After multiple surgeries, rounds of radiation, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy, he lost his battle to cancer in August 2020.”
First, Second, and third place winners will be awarded medals in both the 5k and 10k walk. Attendees will enjoy live music by Keeping Young, receive t-shirts, raffle tickets for giveaways, and complimentary donuts, fruit, and water.
Warriors of Hope’s mission is to help patients and their families that are diagnosed with cancer.
“We provide financial assistance to help relieve the burdens associated with medical expenses such as insurance deductibles, out-of-pocket percentages, transportation services, lodging, patient sitters, and counseling due to emotional stress.” Larisey added. “Come out and earn those Thanksgiving calories while supporting a good cause.”
