Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) is honoring longtime employee Lucetta Sweet as its Leader of the Quarter.

TGMC names its Leader of the Quarter recipients as a way to show appreciation to the hospital’s great leaders. Recipients demonstrate outstanding and consistent commitment to the well-being of patients, their extended families and staff, while also fulfilling TGMC’s mission of providing exceptional healthcare with compassion while serving as strong role models to their peers.

Sweet works as the Nurse Director in the 30-bed Critical Care Unit and the 7-bed Clinical Decision Unit. She’s responsible for the operational, fiscal and clinical aspects of both units and provides the leadership and guidances to her nursing staff, while assisting with patient care.

Sweet’s staff recognized her for her professional attitude, calm demeanor, expertise in the field and strong leadership skills. Colleagues say she consistently monitors the patient’s quality of care and provides regular continued education for her staff to ensure that they are updated on the latest procedures, policies and techniques.

“I have been at TGMC for 33 years and consider it my second home. The entire nursing staff works together as a team along with the medical staff and other disciplines throughout the organization,” said Sweet. “Everyone takes pride in what they do and want what is best for the patient.”
