Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) is participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28 and will offer a free prescription disposal service to the community.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, while also educating the community about potential abuse for medications.

TGMC’s medication disposal program, MedSafe is a resource for the community to properly dispose of prescription medications.

Through proper disposal, TGMC and the community can help reduce the risk of illegal drug use.

The public can drop off any unused or unwanted or expired prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications in the secure lockbox receptacle at TGMC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. That box is located in the TGMC Medical Arts Building.

Illegal drugs will not be accepted.
