Krewe of Hyacinthians: Feb. 16, 2020
The Krewe of Hyacinthians Celebrates the Big Easy this year, as they take to the streets of Houma on February 16, at a later start time then normal, 2 p.m. due to weather.
Queen Hyacinth Sheila Poiencot and King David Poiencot will rule over the 452 member, all-women krewe. There are 19 throwing floats.
Maids to her majesty are: Evette Detiveaux, Shanna Himel, Heather Karpinsky, and Sandy Matzke.
Dukes to his majesty are: Allen “Butch” Detiveaux Jr., Mike Himel, Scott Karpinsky, and Paul Matzke.
Pages to their majesties are: Addison Francis, Adelyn Whitney, Gavin Karpinsky, and Grant Karpinsky.
The Captain of the Parade is Alison Bergeron and Captain of the Ball is Jenna Parra.
The Krewe of Hyacinthians features a specialty throw, the Top Hat or Fascinator. Each member hand decorates the hats to hand to lucky members of the viewing public.
