Due to numerous calls and questions concerning times for street closures along parade routes, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter and Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman have issued the following guidelines. Keep in mind, however, that all closures and openings are subject to change:
WEST PARK AVE. FROM BAYOU GARDENS BLVD. TO WESTSIDE BLVD. will CLOSE 30 minutes BEFORE start of parade.
WEST PARK AVE. FROM WESTSIDE BLVD. TO HOLLYWOOD ROAD will CLOSE when the parade STARTS.
HOLLYWOOD BRIDGE AND WEST MAIN/WEST MAIN FROM HOLLYWOOD TO ST. CHARLES will CLOSE 30 minutes AFTER start of parade.
ST. CHARLES AND WEST MAIN TO END OF ROUTE – CLOSURE will depend on the flow of the parade, pedestrian traffic and other factors.
These closures are essential to safety. Many factors will affect specific closure times and how long a road segment is closed, so times above are approximate. Monitor your parade-related social media for more detailed information and changes during the parades.
