On Monday, March 18th, Congressman Steve Scalise visited Terrebonne High School to talk to the Crimson Pride Band about their upcoming 4th of July Parade in Washington D.C. It was Scalise himself who nominated the Tiger band for the patriotic celebration.
Not only the band members, but the whole student body is buzzing about the big trip. But no one is more hyped up about it than band director, Vahn Luquette himself as he spoke about the congressman’s visit, “...it was an honor to meet him (Scalise), such a high-ranking congressman and also because he was the one who nominated Terrebonne to be a participant in the parade…”
The THS band is going to DC and will perform in the upcoming National Independence Day parade and tour the city. As a special surprise during his visit, Scalise announced that he arranged for the band to have a free tour of the capitol. The school is busy with various ways to promote and raise money for the D.C. trip, mainly through an online campaign.
