The Pride of South Lafourche Marching Tarpon Band has worked awfully hard the past week.

How hard? Well, they've put in multiple 12-hour days - working from sun-up to sun-down to lay the foundation for what they hope will be a wonderful year.

So on Friday, they showed off the fruits of their labors, playing pieces of their 2019-20 routine before fans.

The turnout was huge. Memorial Stadium's middle section was full.

When it was over, South Lafourche Band Director Randy Chiasson was pumped!

"First off, I love you!" he told the members of his band on the microphone after they'd finished their work. "Second, I'm so proud of you. That was as good as you could have done today, and I'm so proud of how far we've come."

Chiasson said there's much work to do, but the Tarpons will get it done in the coming weeks leading up to football season and the beginning of festivals.
