Houma Police are searching for a Houma trio suspected of chasing a man Tuesday through the Mechanicville area and shooting at him, authorities said.

Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman said Desmond Verdin, 19, of Kirkglen Loop, Tyrone Mickey, 17, of Muskrat Court, and Lorenzo Barrow, 17, of Coral Drive, are being sought on warrants for attempted first-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Coleman said police recovered a .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol out of the Chevrolet pickup crashed before running away.

The victim first encountered Verdin, Mickey and Barrow around 11 a.m. on Payne Street, Coleman said. The three men were reportedly threatening him with weapons, the police chief said. The victim, who is 20, drove away in a white Crown Victoria, but the others followed in the stolen truck, Coleman said.

The Crown Vic pulled off Payne and into Mechanicville; the truck continued to chase him down various streets, the chief said. The chase ended when the two vehicles collided near the intersection of Main and Authement streets.

Houma Police detectives learned the dark colored Chevrolet truck had been reported stolen through the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, Coleman said.
