Terrebonne General Medical Center and Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government are continuing to partner to provide COVID-19 vaccines at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. The drive-through process is quick and efficient allowing community members to remain in their vehicles to receive the vaccine. Drive-through vaccine distribution for this week will be available on Wednesday, January 27, from 8:30 am – 4 pm at the Houma Terrebonne Civic Center by appointment. 400 vaccines will be provided.

TGMC President and CEO, Phyllis Peoples, and Parish President Gordon Dove have always worked together and the COVID pandemic was no exception. “The Parish and Terrebonne General Medical Center are proud to be working together to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to the people in our community safely and conveniently. The combination of having both the vaccines and a larger distribution site was very important to both entities. The accessibility of the drive-through at the Civic Center and the expertise of the hospital “Vaccine Team” creates a perfect solution to providing our community a convenient location with easy access and expert care. Our goal is to provide the vaccine for as many people in our community who want to receive it,” Dove and Peoples jointly stated.

“Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) would like to thank Parish President Gordon Dove for all he has done to protect our parish and for the use of the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center to distribute COVID-19 vaccines,” added Mrs. Peoples.

The vaccination distribution is part of the phased rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine that is following guidelines set by the state and the Louisiana Department of Health. The vaccine is currently available for those in Phase 1B (ages 70 and older).
