Governor John Bel Edwards announced today Louisiana will transition into Phase 2 of reopening on Friday, June 5.

 

Louisiana went into Phase 1 on May 15.


 

Edwards said he will sign a new proclamation regarding Phase 2 on Thursday.

 

Phase 2 will allow for day spas, tattoo shops, massage shops and estheticians to open at 50 percent capacity.

 

Bars and breweries without LDH food permit can open at 25 percent occupancy, seated, and under the same guidelines applicable to restaurants.


 

Swimming pools (controlled recreational swimming), bowling, skating may open at 50 percent capacity. Event centers may open.

 

Phase 1 businesses are now allowed to operate at 50 percent occupancy, maintaining social distancing.

 

Casinos and video poker establishments may expand to 50 percent capacity and 75 percent of gaming positions.


 

Arcades and children’s museums may resume operations at 50 percent capacity.

 

Outdoor playgrounds and play centers may open.

 

Businesses that must remain closed: amusement rides, carnivals, amusement parks, water parks, fairs, indoor children play centers, theme parks, and concert and music halls.


 

Phase 2 will expire on June 26.
