Update: Deputies learned through investigation that an elderly woman was trying to park a 2014 Nissan Rogue at the restaurant when she inadvertently pressed the accelerator, causing her car to crash into the building, according to LPSO.
A vehicle crashed into the Subway restaurant located at 4840 Louisiana Highway 1 in Mathews at around 1:30 p.m. today, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed with the Times this afternoon.
The driver was transported to the hospital, according to authorities, and there are no reported injuries directly caused by the crash at this time.
LPSO said the investigation is ongoing and more details will be released at a later time.
