Archie Chaisson is the new Lafourche Parish President.
Chaisson pushed past Luci Sposito to become Jimmy Cantrelle’s successor.
Chaisson generated 63 percent of the votes with 97 percent of ballots cast.
Chaisson had 17,960 votes, while Sposito had 10,465.
Chaisson worked as the Parish Administrator under Charlotte Randolph. He also has worked in Thibodaux City Government.
During his campaign, Chaisson said he would do everything in his power to support the oil and gas industry.
