Corey Henry was approved by the Terrebonne Parish Council as the next Fire Chief of the city of Houma Fire Department.

Chief Henry is a 21-year veteran who was nominated for the position by Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove two weeks ago. At Wednesday’s Parish Council meeting, it was voted unanimously to ratify the nomination.

Chief Henry said,” First of all, I would like to thank President Dove…I look forward to serving the department and the city as Fire Chief.” He serves the 60-member department immediately.

Captain Lanny Brunet stepped in as interim Fire Chief after former Fire Chief Keith Ward retired from the position after 25 years of service to the Houma Fire Department and the Parish Government.
