Court appearances for Terrebonne Parish next week are being rescheduled and those involved are asked not to show up.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said, Friday, March 20, that those scheduled to show up for court during the week of March 23-27 will be notified of their case’s new date.

The courthouse is not closed though, functions like background checks, fingerprints, and other services will still be provided. TPSO said they encourage those with questions to call 985-876-2500.

Members of the public are asked to practice “social distancing” and other preventative measures to mitigate the spread of illness.

“Under these harsh conditions it makes our jobs a lot easier when the good people of our parish obey our President & Governor’s orders,” Larpenter said. “Cooperation from the general public will allow our officers to concentrate on investigating crime within our parish.”

There is still no curfew enacted, and Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said he does not anticipate the need for one.
