Lockport man jailed after shooting woman

A Lockport fired at a vehicle, striking a woman in both legs as she and another man he’d been fighting with attempted to flee.

Lafourche authorities charged Shane Joseph Boudreaux, 29, of 198 Linda St., with aggravated second-degree battery and simple battery, as well as an outstanding contempt warrant for Thibodaux City Court.

Boudreaux was arguing with a man on the porch of his Linda Street residence, Lafourche sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Brennan Matherne said. The fight escalated to blows. Authorities said, at one point, Boudreaux allegedly shoved a woman standing nearby off the porch.

As the woman and man tried to get away, Boudreaux reportedly fired a single .380-caliber round from a handgun at the vehicle. Matherne said the bullet penetrated the door, striking the woman’s right leg and entering her left leg.

The woman was treated for her injuries.

Matherne said detectives retrieved a .380-caliber casing at the scene. The gun was found hidden inside a stereo speaker, he said.

District Judge John LeBlanc set Boudreaux’s bond at $15,750.

Man jailed after Gibson shooting

A 37-year-old Gibson man is in custody after authorities said he fired shots at the Gibson Food Mart this week.

On Oct. 23 at approximately 5 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the local business after receiving a tip from state troopers that a shooting had occurred at the location.

Detectives arrived at the Gibson Food Mart and they learned from troopers that a suspect was shooting a gun at the store. Authorities said a passerby witnesses the conflict and also provided a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle.

During investigation, authorities were able to name Christopher Seymore, 37, of 236 Fandal St., as a suspect.

Authorities located Seymore and took him to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office station where he was questioned by detectives – during which authorities claim that he admitted to getting into a verbal argument with a man at the location, which caused him to fire a gun in the air.

Detectives recovered a .22-caliber handgun from Seymore’s residence.

Seymore is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal use of a weapon.

He is held at the Terrebonne Parish Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Ex-employee helps burglarize Thibodaux business

One suspect is in custody and another is at large in the burglary of a Thibodaux business.

At 9 p.m. last Tuesday, Ashley Kelley, 29, of A-137 Solar Trailer Park, Thibodaux, and her boyfriend, Kevin Boudreaux, burglarized a business that Kelley had recently been fired from, Thibodaux Police authorities said.

During the break-in, authorities said the two trashed the place and took several hundreds of dollars.

When TPD investigated the burglary, they also learned that Kelley had stolen cash from the register at the business on four separate occasions. She was taken into custody on charges of simple burglary and four counts of theft. She remains at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $50,500 bond.

Boudreaux remains at large. Authorities are asking anyone with information about Boudreaux’s whereabouts to call the TPD at (985) 446-5021.

Year-long investigation lands 5 in custody

A year-long investigation has led authorities to the arrest of five suspects in connection with a diesel theft that occurred in Cut Off in Oct. 2012.
