Three arrested, one at large in string of Bayou Blue Thefts and Burglaries

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced this week that three individuals are arrested and one additional suspect is still at large in a string of thefts and burglaries in the Bayou Blue area.


LPSO spokesman Brennan Matherne said detectives arrested Dylan Rogers, 19, of 133 Bon Jovi Boulevard, Gray, and Cassidy G. Olivier, 21, of 100 Cottonwood Drive, Houma. In addition to those arrests, Matherne said Terrebonne deputies arrested Clint E. Chauvin, 19, of 131 Wilderness Lane, Houma, on warrants from Lafourche.


The suspects were wanted for their alleged role in a string of burglaries in Bayou Blue.

Matherne said detectives learned that on one night in April, Chauvin, Rogers, Olivier and a fourth suspect, William Lala, 21, of 205 Duet St., Houma, allegedly stole gas cans from several Bayou Blue homes.


Matherne said a total of seven homes were hit in that burglary.


Further investigation yielded that in another incident, the suspects burglarized another residence and broke into a total of six vehicles in Bayou Black.

Among the items taken were a wallet containing cash and a bank card, which authorities say was used to make purchases at various Lafourche and Terrebonne locations.


Olivier was arrested and charged with theft over $500.


Chauvin and Rogers were charge with warrants for theft over $500, unauthorized use of an access card, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and six counts of simple burglary.

Matherne said authorities are still searching for Lala. When apprehended, he will face the same charges as Chauvin and Rogers.

HPD nabs alleged murderer

One day after a shooting at 133 Whispering Oaks Trailer Park, the Houma Police Department labeled its suspect in a murder.


HPD Chief Todd Duplantis said last Tuesday officers were called in reference to shots being fired near the trailer park.


Shortly after the initial call, HPD was informed that a man was shot in the incident.

When on the scene, police found Ron Pierre, 40, of Houma, lying on the floor of his home, deceased from gunshot wounds.


An autopsy revealed the man suffered several wounds to his upper torso.


Through further investigation, Duplantis said witnesses were identified and a suspect was developed.

Police say Jerome Anthony Jones, 22, of Thomas Drive, Houma, shot Pierre after a disagreement regarding an illegal narcotics exchange.


Police say Jones stands 6-feet tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.


He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that says “MOB”.

He is wanted for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Thibodaux bicycle officers nab hit and run suspect

Thibodaux Police Chief Scott Silverii announced the launch of his office’s district surveillance, which combines multiple layers of crime deterrence techniques.

During this operation, dubbed ICU, the police chief said bicycle officers were able to arrest Dylan James Soudelier, 19, of 209 Jane Avenue, Houma, for principle to hit and run and first-offense DWI.

Early Friday morning at 2:11 a.m., authorities say a bicycle officer was flagged down by a motorist who said a Chevy Silverado struck their vehicle and then left the scene.

The bicycle officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle in the parking lot of Circle K on 101 West 1st St.

While investigating the crash, officers discovered Soudelier to be impaired with the smell of alcohol on his breath.

He was arrested and transported to the TPD where he provided a breath sample indicating his blood alcohol concentration was .192g%.

No one was injured in the crash.

Houma Police arrests two for business break-in

The Houma Police Department announced last Tuesday that two suspects were arrested after the allegedly broke into Get Your Shine On Detail Shop.

Officers were called to that business after witnesses say two white males were seen entering the company’s building through a window.

While on the scene, officers learned another subject, who had permission to be in the business, was sleeping when the break-in occurred.

He was awakened by the intruders and confronted them, according to authorities.

The suspects were placed under arrest when officers reached the scene.

The two men initially refused to release their names, but they were later identified as Brandon Bourg, 17, of 818 Saadi St., Houma and Cody Toups, 17, of 328 Crochetville Road, Houma.

Both suspects are charged with unauthorized entry of a place of business and resisting an officer by refusing to make identification known.

St. Mary Task Force nabs two

The St. Mary Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force, consisting of the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office and the Morgan City, Franklin, Baldwin, Berwick and Chitimacha Police Departments report the following arrests for drug-related crimes:

Dontrell Robinson, 20, of 501 Ninth St., Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 4:12 p.m. for possession of marijuana. Task Force agents were patrolling Ninth Street when they observed the Robinson running at the sight of agents. During a chase, Robinson was apprehended and placed under arrest. A marijuana cigarette was located in Robinson’s possession. He was given a summons to appear in court on Aug. 17.

Chad Couvillier, 25, of 122 Big Bear Lane, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for improper lane usage and possession of Loritab. Task Force agents were patrolling Main Street when they observed Couvillier’s vehicle cross the fog lines on several occasions. Agents conducted a traffic stop during which they located several Loritab pills in her purse. She was placed under arrest and booked in the parish jail.
