Thibodaux man with stolen handgun arrested

Tyler Tillman, 19, of 2127 Audubon Ave., Apt. 57, Thibodaux, was arrested Christmas morning after Thibodaux Police found a stolen handgun in his possession, authorities said.


Chief Scott Silverii said officers received information around 2:30 a.m. that a man had a gun and mask in a parking lot near where a private party was being held in the 1300 block of Cardinal Drive. When police arrived, they found Tillman and Jermaine Miles, 18, of 310 Eauclair Drive, near a vehicle in the parking lot. Miles tried to flee the scene, but was stopped, the chief said.


A semi-automatic handgun, which had been reported stolen, was recovered.

Tillman was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm and with a warrant for failing to appear for traffic offenses in Terrebonne Parish. Miles was charged with resisting arrest.


Both men are being held in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in lieu of bonds.


Golden Meadow man arrested for aggravated rape

Brandon Lee, 18, of 640 S. Bayou Drive, Apt. A, in Golden Meadow, was arrested last Wednesday and charged with aggravated rape, authorities said.

Chief Reggie Pitre said in a release that his department received a tip that Lee had sexual contact with a child under the age of 13. Detectives learned the incident happened on a single occasion in mid-December, he said.

Lee was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

Houma woman arrested for terrorizing school

Kely Garcia, 31, of Denning Drive, Houma, was arrested and charged with terrorizing, in connection with an incident on Dec. 20, Terrebonne sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Malcolm Wolfe said in a release.

Garcia allegedly threatened public officials and students at local high schools, authorities said. She fled the area, and was found two days later in Jack County, Texas, which is near the Fort Worth/Dallas area. Her bond is set at $1 million.

Wolfe said Garcia will be extradited back to Houma to be incarcerated awaiting trial or bond.
