Kidnapping, battery charges given to Schriever man

A Schriever man is in the Terrebonne Parish Jail after authorities said he kidnapped and battered his ex-girlfriend.

Last Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office authorities responded to Johnson Ridge Lane in reference to a call from a female victim who claimed she was beaten and forced into the trunk of a vehicle.

Deputies responded to the call and located the vehicle in question – a gold Toyota Camry.

When deputies first responded on the scene, the victim was in the backseat of the vehicle and the alleged suspect was at a residence nearby.

When authorities approached the vehicle, deputies observed the suspect running.

After a brief chase, deputies apprehended the suspect, Jason Lee Livas, 28, 205 Livas Lane, of Schriever, and took him into custody.

The victim in the case is a 35-year-old female, who authorities said is the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.

Authorities said Livas beat and kicked the woman, causing damage to her face, head and upper body.

After the alleged beating, authorities said Livas forced the victim into the vehicle and drove her around the area.

Livas is charged with second-degree kidnapping and second-degree battery.

He is held in the Terrebonne Parish Jail in lieu of a $150,000 bond.

Houma Police nab attempted murder suspect

A 46-year-old Houma woman is in custody after Houma Police officers said she stabbed a male victim.

Shortly after 7 a.m. last Wednesday, HPD responded to 1120 Dewey St., in reference to an altercation.

When officers arrived, they observed a male and a female involved in a scrum during which police saw the male attempt to disarm a knife from the female.

Police said the male was covered in blood.

After seeing this, police ordered the woman, Caulette Rollins, 46, of 200 Smith Lane, to drop the knife.

Once she did, officers took her into custody.

Police said the victim suffered from several stab wounds in his back and one near his throat. He was immediately taken to a medical facility for his injuries.

As the investigation continued, officers learned the victim was in a relationship with Rollins, but the two were on the verge of separating.

Police said Rollins located the victim at a relative’s residence where the attack began.

Rollins is being charged with attempted second-degree murder.

The victim remains in the hospital for various injuries.

Man arrested for fourth DWI

Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office authorities caught a break this week from a fuel tank – an empty fuel tank.

Golden Meadow man Anthony Leboeuf Jr., 33, of 132 Jacob Drive, was taken into custody on multiple charges last Monday after he ran out of gas during a flight from officers, which forced him to stop his vehicle.

At around 6:30 a.m. last Monday, LPSO spokesman Brennan Matherne said deputies responded to a disturbance on West 21st Street in Larose during which deputies found Leboeuf parked on the street and asked him to exit his vehicle.

Matherne said Leboeuf responded to the deputy’s request by driving away from the scene and nearly hitting a deputy while passing by.

Deputies tried to stop Leboeuf in a traffic stop, but he ignored their warning signals, leading deputies through various streets near Larose-Cut Off Middle School.

Matherne said Leboeuf continued southbound on La. Highway 1, but he was forced to stop near West 33rd Street when his vehicle ran out of fuel.

Once stopped, Leboeuf was placed under arrest.

Matherne said deputies located several open containers of alcohol in the suspect’s vehicle and detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

Leboeuf performed poorly on a field sobriety test and failed a breathalyzer test, blowing above the legal limit.

Matherne said the suspect also told deputies that they would “lose their jobs” because he claimed to know a large number of people in the community.

Leboeuf is charged with DWI (4th offense), aggravated flight from an officer, disturbing the peace by appearing in an intoxicated condition, open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, no seat belt, no insurance and public intoxication.

He was released Monday evening after posting a $37,200 bond.

Leboeuf has been arrested 20 times since 1998, according to Matherne.

Two arrested in meth lab

A man and a woman are in the custody of Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office authorities this week after deputies said they operated a meth lab in Lockport.

Last Tuesday, LPSO spokesman Brennan Matherne said deputies responded to the home of Shelby Howard, 19, of 126 Myrtle Drive, Lockport.

Upon arrival, authorities noted several items in the residence that are commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Once making the observation, Lafourche Drug Task Force agents responded to the scene and started to investigate.

During that time, authorities learned that Howard had purchased items for Kyle Trosclair, 29, of 128 Rubaiyat Drive, Thibodaux. The purchases were so Trosclair could manufacture meth.

Matherne said task force agents located two bottles in the home, believed to be byproducts of methamphetamine creation.

The Lafourche Parish Combined Meth Lab Response Team arrived on the scene and started to process the suspected lab found within the home.

Matherne said they found further evidence of meth manufacturing at the residence, which led to Howard being arrested on a charge of creation and operation of a clandestine lab.

At that time, authorities also issued a warrant for Trosclair’s arrest on the same charge.

Last Wednesday, Matherne said agents observed Trosclair fueling his vehicle at a gas station, taking him into custody without incident.

When arrested, Trosclair told authorities he had drugs and paraphernalia inside his truck. During a search, Matherne said agents located the paraphernalia and a partially smoked marijuana cigar and methamphetamine.

Trosclair is booked on charges of creation/operation of a clandestine lab, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Stolen shotgun nets arrest

A Raceland man is in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center after deputies learned he stole a shotgun from a home.

At 2 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to Robichaux Street in Raceland in reference to a theft.

Once on the scene, LPSO spokesman Brennan Matherne said authorities learned that the homeowner gave Damien Hebert, 34, access to the home while he was away.

When he returned home, the shotgun was reported missing.

Deputies made contact with Hebert, who admitted to stealing the firearm and selling it to a pawn shop, according to Matherne.

Hebert was arrested and charged with theft of a firearm. Because of a prior conviction, he was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
