The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux has created a new program aimed at letting parishioners keep religion as a part of their day-to-day lives.

The program is called Food for the Journey and it will be a monthly lunchtime series that will feature priests from throughout the Diocese.

The Food for the Journey Program will meet on the first Tuesday of every month, including this Tuesday when Father Jerod Duet of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma will be the guest speaker.

Previous speakers at the program include local priests Fr. Mark Toups, Fr. Josh Ridrigue and Fr. Joey Pilola.

Anyone can attend the monthly series, which is held at the Holiday Inn on 1800 Martin Luther King Blvd., in Houma.

The cost of lunch is $12, which includes all eating expenses for the day, including a tip.

Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. each meeting and the program begins at approximately noon with the presentation usually scheduled to last until 12:45 p.m.

Those interested in attending the May 4 program or future programs are ask to call (985) 850-3141 or to e-mail Dr. Faith Ann Spinella at fspinella@htdiocese. org.

The Diocese said those wanting to RSVP should do so one week in advance of future events.
