If you’re planning to launch a small business but you aren’t quite sure where to start, or you already own a business and are seeking guidance, the America’s Small Business Development Center will be providing imperative and business planning tools at The Business Plan Road to Map Success workshop this February.

On Thursday, Feb. 10, ASBC Louisiana will host a business planning seminar from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., at the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce Office.

The workshop will feature Business Consultant Suzzane Carlos of LSBDC, and Entrepreneur Mike Lewis, owner of Big Mike’s BBQ. The seminar will  include an introduction to create a business plan, a customizable guide created to help small business owners prepare to quickly and recover from disruptions.

The ASBC said the business plans that are given to attendees are “much more than a piece of paper”, but instead a roadmap to success. The roadmap encourages entrepreneurs to consider their entire business at once, and therefore maintain consistency in planning and execution of your business model.

“A comprehensive, focused, well written business plan enables you to control your business and its potential for success. This seminar covers the detailed parts of a thorough business plan.” reads a statement from the ASBC.

The business seminar will cover the following topics:

  • What is a Business Plan and what is it used for?
  • Discovering your mission statement and purpose
  • Cultivating and Advertising Strategy
  • Defining your target market
  • Valuable resources to help accomplish your goals.

The Business Plan Road to Map Success workshop is free admission, however those interested in attending must register using this link https://www2.lsbdc.org/reg.aspx?mode=event&event=10420018, only 26 seats are available.

The seminar is co-sponsored by The Houma Chamber of Commerce, Lafourche Parish, and Nicholls State University. For more information, please call (985) 876-5600, or email lsbc.nic@lousianasbdc.org
