First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow invites the community to attend the 5th annual Thanksgiving Meal on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, for 11:00 a.m at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow located at 187 Oakridge Drive.

The event is free and open to the public, serving guests a traditional Thanksgiving meal including turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, cornbread dressing, and dessert.

Although the event is held every year, Pastor Mathew Chouest says this Thanksgiving is more important than ever. “Last year Zeta hit us and things were not so great. Just like now, IDA left the community devastated. Many families won’t have kitchens to cook in and the community is still very hurt.”

“We try to make it special. We put up nice tablecloths and flower arrangements, and our church members and volunteers serve guests restaurant style. We bring them their food and drinks, pray over them, love on them, and spend time with them, and I believe that is extremely important during these difficult times,” Chouest added.

RSVP for the event is welcomed, but not required.
