Fletcher Technical Community College’s FoXhole Club and Student Government Association hosted its 2nd annual Patriot’s Day on September 11, 2019.

A brief ceremony followed a moment of silence to honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Special guests included men and women from law enforcement, firefighters, emergency responders, and the military, who were honored for their past and present service.

The ceremony included Angie Pellegrin’s (Dean of Student Services) rendition of America the Beautiful, and a 9/11 poem was read by FoXhole member, Joy Lymous.

“Like wars of the past are remembered and our heroes honored, 9/11 is no different,” commented Joy Lymous. “This was the start of war during our generation so it hits us harder and weighs heavy on our hearts. The FoXhole club at Fletcher is passionate about Patriot’s Day; we remember the fallen and pay gratitude and respect to those who live to fight on.”
