Fletcher Technical Community College is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Great Colleges to Work For® program. This is Fletcher’s second consecutive year being recognized and the first time on the honor roll!

The results, released recently in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 196 colleges and universities. In all, 70 of the 196 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies.

The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

Fletcher received recognition in nine (9) of the ten (10) following categories:

  • Job Satisfaction & Support;
  • Professional Development;
  • Mission & Pride;
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness;
  • Confidence in Senior Leadership;
  • Faculty & Staff Well-being;
  • Shared Governance;
  • Faculty Experience;
  • Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

“We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected for a second year in a row as a Great College to Work For,” commented Fletcher Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland. “In addition, it is a tremendous honor to be recognized in 9 of 10 categories and selected for the Honor Roll.  I love that our faculty and staff truly enjoy where they work, and the mission we get to live out every day in service to our community.  Especially during these difficult times, our focus on the mission and serving our community is one major aspect of why our work at Fletcher continues to be so rewarding.”
