Thibodaux Police are searching for four men who allegedly robbed a 31-year-old Thibodaux man shortly after midnight Tuesday.

The man told police he was standing outside his home in the 300 block of West 8th Street talking on his cell phone when four black men, riding in a silver or gray Toyota Corolla drove by. One of the men got out of the back seat and asked the victim to “come see,” Thibodaux Police spokeswoman Detective Laura Guise said.

As the victim approached, the suspect demanded his wallet and warned the man that he had a gun. Fearing for his life, the man surrendered his wallet.

The alleged gunman got back in the Toyota and the vehicle left the area, headed toward Jackson Street.

The victim told police the robber took his brown leather wallet, which has hand-sewn leather stitching with an etched bull’s head inside a circle on one side and a cowboy boot on the other.

The robber is described as a black man in his early 20s. He has dark skin, a thin build and a narrow face, which was clean-shaven, Guise said. The man stands 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a “do-rag” style cover on his head, a dark colored muscle shirt, long blue-jean shorts, white socks and black tennis shoes.
