Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle has issued a mandatory evacuation order as of noon on Thursday, July 11. 


Grand Isle Police will be enforcing a 10 p.m. curfew. 

According to their press release, Grand Isle is expecting a rainfall total ranging from 6” to 10”, along with unusual high tides ranging more than 3 feet above ground. Tropical storm force winds along with hurricane force winds and gusts are possible as early as Thursday evening into Friday. 

The mayor and town councilmembers are asking that is anyone has vehicles, boats or campers in low areas, that they bring them to higher areas until the storm has passed. 


All pumps are up and running. Back-up pumps from Jefferson Parish are on stand-by.
