Red Bird Ministries, a Catholic grief support ministry, will host a Loving Through Loss workshop in Raceland on Saturday, June 25. The workshop is geared towards couples who are grieving the loss of a child.

The workshop will offer both couples and individual parents an opportunity to continue their journey towards healing in the arms of Christ. Each participant will listen to two testimonies of love, loss, and redemption. Each couple will also have an opportunity to share tips and life lessons they have learned through their grief journey. “Red Bird Ministries is seeking to touch a particular area of grief in creating a program exclusively for parents who have experienced the unthinkable, the loss of their child,” reads a statement from Red Bird Ministries. “We welcome all families of child loss to join us.”

The ministry’s goal is to allow each couple the opportunity to discuss their loss with other couples who have experienced the same hardships. Red Bird Ministries will also provide important questions and steps to take as a couple to begin or enhance their healing journey. Spiritual direction and counseling will be provided for couples who are interested.

Registration for the workshop is free but required for material preparation. Registration includes a meal and one couple participation guide. The workshop will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, located 333 Twins Oaks Drive, in Raceland, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
