Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 296,499. That’s 2,562 more cases since yesterday. 271,177 are confirmed; 25,322 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 46 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,272 deaths. 6,918 are confirmed; 354 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/21/20 is 247,501, which is 14,776 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 5,895 cases. There are 5,138 confirmed and 757 probable. That’s 14 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 161 deaths; 153 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 12-Dec. 16 is 8.70%, down 13.00% from the week prior, which was 10.00%.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 5,705 cases. There are 5,170 confirmed and 535 probable. That’s 70 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 147 deaths; 141 are confirmed and 6 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 10-Dec. 16 is 10.50%, up 31.30% from the week prior, which was 8.00%.

 

Statewide, there are 1,633 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 199 are on ventilators. That’s 42 less patients since yesterday, and 3 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,243,015, which is 27,919 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,050,500 molecular tests and 192,515 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 76,507 tests in Lafourche (71,487 molecular and 5,020 antigen) and 73,879 tests in Terrebonne (70,387 molecular and 3,492 antigen). That’s 425 more tests in Lafourche and 450 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
