The lone Tri-parish native to compete in the Boston Marathon is “doing fine” at press time after completing the race safely before Monday afternoon’s explosions along the race’s route.

An official with the Terrebonne Parish Public Health Unit confirmed to the Tri-Parish Times on Monday afternoon that their employee, Houma native Felicia Guidry, was unharmed and safe after completing the race.

Guidry is a local nurse at the health unit. She completed the race in 3:45.38.

The spokeswoman at the Terrebonne Parish Public Health Unit did not elaborate on Guidry’s whereabouts besides saying, “She’s doing fine.”
