Students who lived in a parish or attended a College/University in a parish that experienced devastation due to Hurricane Ida may be exempt from certain TOPS retention requirements. The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance is offering a Hurricane Ida Q&A survey, providing a list of TOPS retention requirements that were suspended for TOPS recipients who were impacted by Hurricane IDA.
The LOSFA is encouraging students to check out their Hurricane IDA Q&A to view a list of TOPS retention requirements that were suspended for TOPS recipients who were impacted by Hurricane IDA.
Those who were impacted by the storm, but are not in one of the specific parishes can file a request for Exception (12-Natural Disaster) to the continuous full-time enrollment and annual hours requirements.

The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) is a Program of the Louisiana Board of Regents, administering the state’s scholarship and grant programs, and the state’s Internal Revenue Code Section 529 college savings program. Through outreach services, LOSFA is also active in the dissemination and support of college access information and services with a concentration on assisting students from low-income families and first-generation college attendees, in locating and obtaining the resources necessary to pursue and complete a postsecondary education.
