District Attorney Kristine Russell shares the following updates for the 17th JDC from March 23rd to March 27th:

– Effective March 23rd, our Thibodaux Office will remain operational, but the building will be closed to the public. Our staff is still available to serve, though, and can be reached by phone at 985-447-2003. If you have any questions related to the 17th JDC, please feel free to contact us.


– Our Galliano office is closed until further notice.

– Court appearances from March 23rd to March 27th are continued. A new court date will be sent to you by mail. The courts will only be handling magistrates, bonds and arraignments via audio/visual means for those who are incarcerated.

– The Jury trial set in Division A for March 23rd to March 27th has been canceled. No one should report for jury duty if they were subpoenaed.


– The 17th JDC SLLS Self-Help Desk is closed until further notice

– A decision has not yet been made for court appearances beyond March 27th.
